Demetria McKinney Says Her Reason For Getting On ‘RHOA’ Was Accomplished
One person who may not have watched Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 reunion show that aired on Sunday night, despite being in the season, was Demetria McKinney. That’s because she’s currently vacationing in San Juan, Puerto Rico. On Sunday, Demetria posted a photo of herself wearing a white bikini, right before hitting the beach.
In response to a viewer who seemingly said that Demetria wasn’t invited to appear on the reunion show, Demetria, who was shown on the seventh season as a recurring housewife, said that her schedule got in the way. In a hint that she may not return for another season, Demetria also said that she accomplished the goal that she had in mind all along when she joined the show.
“Was performing while they filmed. Just sad people don’t know what’s really going on and hop on social media with lack of knowledge. Smh. My focus and reason for getting on the show was music and I got it done! Signed a deal with @Eonemusic and on tour with#PepsiFunkFest and @rkelly! Feeling super blessed and didn’t have to go on a shady rant to do it! ? Have a good one!”
On Twitter, Demetria refuted a viewer’s claim that the show’s producers didn’t invite her to the reunion because she didn’t have a storyline or contract. Demetria, who recently signed a record deal with eOne music, made it clear that she preferred performing on a stage to dealing with the drama of the Real Housewives reunion.
“Hi there! Despite having a contract my purpose on the show was to expose my music. I had a performance when they filmed & accomplished what i came for. Had no desire to throw shade or belittle others instead of performing which led to #PepsiFunkFest and the @rkelly tour and getting signed It just sux ppl say what they think without verification….but hope u have a great night! :)”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, right after The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 reunion show filmed in late March, Demetria McKinney explained that she didn’t attend because she was booked to perform at the Black Women’s Expo in Chicago. Demetria said that she preferred chasing her “tulip” dream, a reference to Phaedra Parks telling her that she should’ve pursued a pop career when she was a younger tulip, to filming the reunion.
“No, I had a booking before the date was released. Would definately like to sing and live my ‘tulip’ dream rather than give energy to the negativity that’s gonna be on deck at the reunion! Lol! I know my girls will hold it down so make sure u support them if u can!”
