Bruce Jenner Slammed: Blogger Matt Walsh Rips Bruce, Calls Reality Star A ‘Mentally Ill Crossdresser’

Bruce Jenner has been slammed by blogger Matt Walsh following the former Olympian’s interview with Diane Sawyer which aired on Friday night. According to Gossip Cop, Walsh doesn’t approve of Jenner’s gender choices, and he wrote about it in an article for the Blaze. While some believe that Walsh is entitled to his own opinion and that he is expressing the way many people feel, others think that his comments are completely insensitive, and way off base.

“On Friday night, a mentally ill crossdresser named Bruce Jenner was interviewed for two hours during prime time about his plan to gruesomely mutilate his genitals in a macabre pseudo-medical ritual often erroneously described as a ‘sex change,'” Walsh started off his piece.

Bruce Jenner came out to Diane Sawyer and told her that he is a woman — that he identifies himself as a female. Millions of people watched the interview, but there were a lot of questions to be asked after it was over. For instance, are people to call Bruce “he” or “she,” and what’s going to happen when Bruce makes the full transition to female in a few months?

According to Business Insider, Kim Kardashian (Bruce’s stepdaughter) said that her family has reached out to GLAAD for support, and to make sure that they remain respectful to their dad as they adjust to his new chosen life.

“Even just the discussion [can be difficult]. We have been talking to people from the GLAAD organization, just different organizations on just what do we call him. Do we say him or her? How do we be respectful? There are so many different things that you just want to be supportive and you just want to be respectful. I think everything takes time. Until that transition is done, we’ve learned that you do refer to him as ‘him.'”

Not everyone is going to understand what Bruce Jenner is going through, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that people aren’t going to be supporting. Matt Walsh seems to look at the situation from a very literal perspective.

“Bruce Jenner has a male anatomy, male chromosomes, male DNA, male hormones, a male bone structure, and male reproductive organs. He is a male. He can never be anything but a male. He is not a woman ‘for all intents and purposes,’ for the same reason that I am not an antelope or a pine cone for all intents and purposes. Indeed, it is specifically my ‘intents and purposes’ that make me neither a pine cone nor an antelope and Jenner neither a woman nor ‘transgendered.’

“He can grow out his hair and shop in the women’s section at Barneys, but none of that will have any impact on his practical physiological disposition. He can change his wardrobe, but that will not change his DNA. He can ask us to use different pronouns when addressing him, but that won’t cause him to start ovulating or lactating.”

Matt Walsh concluded that he simply cannot accept Bruce Jenner as a woman. But it’s more than that. He says that he doesn’t accept it and that he won’t.

There have been quite a few comments made about Bruce after his candid interview. While people continue to talk bad about Bruce, slam his decisions, and make fun of his situation, he is focused on doing what is best for him. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Bruce knows that he has the support of his family, and that while it hasn’t been the easiest of roads, he’s still walking.
