WWE News: Full Bracket Announced For King Of The Ring Tournament Beginning on ‘Raw’

Last night during WWE Extreme Rules, it was announced that the ever-popular King of the Ring tournament would be returning soon. Actually, it was announced that it would be returning very soon, and beginning tonight on Monday Night RAW. Now, the bracket has been released, and we know which eight superstars will be competing for the crown.

WWE first announced that King of the Ring would return on last night’s Pay-Per-View, and on Monday afternoon, they revealed who would take part in it. These are some interesting match-ups and actually lead to even better matches in the following rounds.

The first round will take place on RAW tonight and determine which four superstars will move on to the next rounds. After tonight, the Semi-Finals and Finals will take place on the WWE Network on Tuesday night in a live presentation beginning at 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. central time.

One would think that this is a way to have Bad News Barrett stay in the spotlight. His Intercontinental Title match at Extreme Rules was canceled due to Daniel Bryan’s injury, and then he lost on the Kickoff Show to Neville.

In that same breath, WWE could want to continue to push Neville, but he would have to win some big time matches. His first is with Luke Harper and his second would either be against Dean Ambrose or Sheamus. Neither of those would be an easy victory.

On the other hand, Dolph Ziggler got a big victory over Sheamus last night, and WWE may want to give him a push without actually putting a title around his waist. Then again, the return of Sheamus with his new heel persona may have him plow through the competition.

Honestly, Stardust and R-Truth look to be the odd men out and the weakest links in this whole thing. Neither of them seems in line for a WWE push, and will probably be eliminated in the first two rounds.

Maybe the “Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose will finally see a big singles push, but that’s something that always seems to die out before it really happens.

The first round match-ups for King of the Ring look really good, and tournaments are always a good thing for WWE. Fans love them because they’re never quite sure what may end up happening. Maybe if it gets enough love, King of the Ring will be moved off RAW and see its brackets on its own Pay-Per-View again in the future.
