Bruce Jenner Celebrity Reactions, From Lady Gaga To Ariana Grande, Plus Jenner’s Best Transgender Quotes
Even before Bruce Jenner began his highly antipated interview with Diane Sawyer, celebrity reactions flew across social media. From Lady Gaga to Ellen DeGeneres to Bruce’s own family tree filled with famous folks such as Kim Kardashian, celebrities praised Bruce for his courage, reported Cinema Blend.
One of the most appreciated reactions came from Lady Gaga, with 34,82734,827 retweets and 59,34059,340 favorites as of this post.
“We have the chance to write this moment in history together. Let’s empower people like Bruce all over the world by being loving & not mean.”
Ellen DeGeneres also was quick to respond during and after Bruce Jenner’s interview.
“Bruce Jenner is a beautiful, brave human being. Sending him lots of love. He’s saving lives and opening minds tonight,” she posted, getting 48,92648,926 retweets and 93,30993,309 favorites.
Bruce’s message to be authentic to yourself and his honesty about his decision to publicize his transgender journey appealed to all ages and backgrounds. Young pop singer Ariana Grande shared her understanding of what Jenner’s words meant to her.
“bruce jenner is beautiful we all need to commit to making this world a more loving, supportive, SAFE /non judgemental place to be ourselves.”
And an actor famous from Star Trek days, George Takei, also reached out to Bruce to show his support and appreciation.
“Watching #BruceJenner come forward. Such courage, such humanity. It’s so very nice to meet her.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Kylie, Kendall, and Kris Jenner as well as Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian all posted their own love and pride for Bruce Jenner as well.
“Love is the courage to live the truest, best version of yourself. Bruce is love. I love you Bruce. #ProudDaughter,” wrote Kim.
“Couldn’t be a more proud daughter. With courage and bravery, let’s change the world. I am honored to stand by Bruce’s side and support him,” shared Kourtney.
But beyond the celebrity reactions on social media, Bruce Jenner’s own words reverberated across the nation, pointed out Newsweek.
“My brain is much more female than it is male. It is hard for people to understand that but that is what my soul is,” revealed Jenner in an attempt to share what it felt like to be transgender.
“I just can’t hold the curtain any longer. Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie. I can’t do it anymore.”
In addition, Jenner showed compassion for the community, referring to the challenges for transgender women in particular, both with suicide and violence against them.
“I would like to work with this community to get this message out. They know a lot more than I know. I am not a spokesman for this community. I believe we can save some lives here.”
And some of the questions were left open-ended, with Jenner wanting to wait to tell the end of the story. As for all the rumors about gender reassignment surgery and dating? Bruce was thoughtful in specifying that the truth will be told in time – and that not all the answers are known even to Jenner.
