Watch ‘The Hunger Games’ Red Carpet Premiere Live [Video]

In a few hours, the cast of “The Hunger Games” will walk down the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, and the rest of the cast will hit the red carpet for the premiere starting at 8:30 p.m. EST.

Snark Food reports that fans have been camping outside the theater in order to catch a glimpse of “The Hunger Games” cast tonight. And those die hard “Hunger Games” fans were rewarded earlier today when Jennifer Lawrence stopped by to sign some autographs. Lawrence said:

“I knew people were camping out, and I couldn’t not come… When the first ‘Harry Potter’ came out, I would have camped out — absolutely. By the time I was 13, I had read the book three times. If I grew up in England, I would have been that person.”

“The Hunger Games” is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Lionsgate is already talking about sequels as they hope to turn the new movie, based on the Suzanne Collins’ novel, into the next Harry Potter.

Here’s the synopsis from Lions Gate:

“Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.”
