Bruce Jenner Interview: Khloe, Kourtney, Kim Kardashian, Kylie, Kendall, Kris Jenner, GLAAD, Celebs Cheer [Video]

Bruce Jenner has successfully revealed his plans to transition in the highly anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer. And now, family members from Kim Kardashian to Kris Jenner, as well as celebrities such as Elton John and LGBT advocacy groups are showing their support. Using social media to publicize their bond with Bruce, his family expressed their love and pride in Jenner, reported Us Weekly.

After weeks of promos that revealed only hints of what Bruce would reveal in his interview, the ABC special combined Jenner’s explanation of his long journey to deciding to become authentic about his female gender with general details from Diane about the transgender experience. With every member of his closely knit family gathering to support him and posting their love on social media as the interview aired, rumors about rifts due to Bruce’s decision quickly vanished.

“Proud son,” wrote Brandon Jenner.

Khloe Kardashian tweeted throughout Bruce’s interview and summed up her feelings after it aired.

“Just finished watching the #BruceJennerInterview with the family. Bruzer, I’m soooo proud of you! Dads really are heroes.”

As for Kylie Jenner, she kept it simple.

“Understandingly, this has been very hard for me. You will hear what I have to say when I’m ready to but…..this isn’t about me. I’m so proud of you, Dad. You are so brave. My beautiful Hero.”

In addition, Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian showed their support. While Kendall tweeted her love, Kourtney emphasized that she valued Bruce’s interview for what it showed about his authentic self.

“Couldn’t be a more proud daughter. With courage and bravery, let’s change the world. I am honored to stand by Bruce’s side and support him.”

And Kim Kardashian chimed in.

“Love is the courage to live the truest, best version of yourself. Bruce is love. I love you Bruce. #ProudDaughter”

As for Kris Jenner, after months of rumors that she was going to sue Bruce or had stopped talking to him, she showed her love as well.

“Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero,” posted Kris.

Ellen DeGeneres also took to social media to share her support and admiration for Bruce’s interview honesty and his family’s support.

“.@DianeSawyer did an absolutely incredible job. I’m glad he has supportive, loving children to help him through. Bruce Jenner is a beautiful, brave human being. Sending him lots of love. He’s saving lives and opening minds tonight.”

But not every celebrity who spoke out was supportive, and Dr. Phil found himself the center of a backlash after mocking Bruce as “too old” to transition, as the Inquisitr reported.

“He’s kind of, like past his prime, right?” joked Dr. Phil.

The talk show doc quickly retracted his statements after getting slammed.

“I’ve said long and loud it’s never too late to make a life change, and I’m personally cheering him on. I’m glad he’s decided to set himself free in order to live his life authentically. It’s his life and his body and his decision – more power to him.”

In addition, GLAAD, which is an LGBT media advocacy organization, offered its views on Bruce Jenner’s interview

“Today, millions of people learned that someone they know is transgender,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “By sharing this story, Bruce Jenner has shined a light on what it means to be transgender and live authentically in the face of unimaginable public scrutiny.”

Nick Adams, who directs programs for GLAADs, emphasized the need to accept each individual’s story rather than make assumptions on one person’s journey.

“Every transgender person’s journey is unique, and by choosing to share this story, Bruce Jenner adds another layer to America’s understanding of what it means to be transgender.”
