Melanie Griffith Home For Sale: Actress’ Los Angeles-Area Estate With Ex Antonio Banderas Listed
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith’s home is for sale in Los Angeles, a move the couple made nearly a year after splitting. The pair has owned the California estate for about 16 years, and they likely stand to make quite the profit on its sale.
As the Wall Street Journal shares, the estate is situated in the exclusive Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. The Banderas and Griffith home was originally purchased for $4.2 million back in 1999 and it is reportedly now listed for $16.1 million.
The Hancock Park home is a 15,000-square-foot home designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann, the architect who also designed the Hoover Dam. The house is three stories high and features 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. There’s an acre-and-a-half of property with the estate, as Antonio and Melanie reportedly had torn down a house on the neighboring lot in 2000 to create an expansive estate.
There are beautiful lawns, rose gardens, a pool, and an organic garden outside, and the inside has an elevator along with a two-story banquet hall. The home also features four fireplaces and many other high-end amenities.
Variety adds that there is a three-car garage on the Banderas and Griffith property that features many details honoring its original Italian architectural design. The large entrance features a stone staircase, and there are hand-stenciled ceiling details along with a paver-tiled floor.
A library, bar lounge, and mezzanine lounge stun visitors as a double-height kitchen, recording studio, fitness center, and separate guest apartment add to the luxurious feel of the estate. The Los Angeles property was just one of several that Antonio and Melanie owned together during their 18-year marriage. They also had a New York apartment and an Aspen, Colorado, home.
Though Antonio and Melanie had their fair share of difficulties during their lengthy marriage, fans were disappointed to see the union end. It didn’t take long for Banderas to be linked to someone new, though for the most part, both Melanie and Antonio have stayed out of the headlines recently. Griffith was seen with her daughter Dakota frequently during the big 50 Shades of Grey media frenzy at the time of the premiere though.
While the Hancock Park property has a hefty price tag, it also has many unique features that make it a stand-out property.
