Is Bravo Star Kim Richards Too Broke For Rehab?
Bravo star Kim Richards is reportedly unable to pay for her own stay in rehab. According to an April 23 report by Radar Online, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is uninsured, and doesn’t have the money she needs to check herself into a treatment center.
“Not only is Kim broke, but she also doesn’t have health insurance and has no way to pay for rehab. She had been using that as a reason to not go back for treatment, as no one in the family was stepping up to foot the bill.”
Although no one in the Bravo star’s family has stepped up, one man has. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Dr. Phil offered to pay for the Bravo star to go to rehab after his recent interview with her, but sadly, she turned the offer down. According to a second Radar Online report, the Bravo star’s family has been pressuring her to enter rehab, but even after she was offered a free ride, Richards declined.
“Dr. Phil offered to send her to rehab, and he would take care of the expenses. It was extremely generous, and a facility was picked out by Dr. Phil. Kim was blown away by the gesture, but didn’t immediately agree to go.”
After her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she was accused of public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery on an officer, Richards sat down with Dr. Phil to discuss what had happened. Although the episode won’t air until next Tuesday, it has been reported that the Bravo star admitted to being drunk, and she said the night was all “my fault.”
Still, while the Bravo star admitted to relapsing, she hasn’t yet agreed to go to rehab — regardless of who is paying.
“[Brooke Brinson] is getting married for a second time next month, and she doesn’t want to miss it. The event will be taking place out of the country.”
While it is understandable that the Bravo star wouldn’t want to miss the wedding of her daughter, it’s also extremely concerning that she hasn’t yet made plans for treatment. Even if she isn’t prepared to enter a facility right away, she shouldn’t be putting off the issue entirely.
As for the upcoming sixth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the Bravo star has not yet officially been named as one of the returning housewives.
