Dr. Phil McGraw Attempts To Make Kim Richards Go To Rehab
Dr. Phil McGraw met with Kim Richards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this week, where the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star addressed her recent relapse and arrest. However, while the interview was thought to have gone off without a hitch, new reports claim that was far from the case.
During filming, Dr. Phil McGraw was joined by Richards and her three children, Chad, Kimberly, and Brooke, who reportedly grew upset with their mother when she refused Dr. Phil McGraw’s offer to send her to rehab.
According to an Extra TV report on April 22, Chad was heard pleading with Richards to go to rehab, but sadly, all the pressure led Richards to storm out of the interview, explaining she would not enter treatment ahead of her daughter Brooke’s upcoming wedding.
“You can forget this whole thing, here’s your microphone. I’m done, I’m leaving, I wanna talk to my family.”
Regarding the Dr. Phil McGraw-recommended rehab stint, Richards was reportedly heard telling her daughter, “I’m not going down there, I’m not going for three months and I’m not going to miss your wedding.” But Brooke wasn’t having it and, as the Inquisitr previously reported, attempted to put her foot down in regard to her mother’s treatment plan.
According to a Daily Mail Online report, Brinson yelled the following at her mother as she stormed out of the hotel.
“Why do you have to be so f***ing picky, just go get the help you need. You have to do this, mom!”
Although Richards’ three children attempted to convince their reality star mother to rejoin Dr. Phil McGraw in the interview room, “she wouldn’t budge,” according to eyewitnesses. At that point, Dr. Phil McGraw approached Richards himself in hopes of having her return — and agree to a treatment plan for her future.
“I do trust you, I don’t know you, but I know you, so I can trust you and my kids trust you,” Richards reportedly told Dr. Phil McGraw, also adding she couldn’t make any final decision until she talked things over with her life coach and her doctor.
“Don’t cheat yourself, don’t cheat your kids, just remember I told you that,” Dr. Phil McGraw later said, according to the report.
Currently, it does not appear that Richards has any sort of treatment plan in place.
