Victoria’s Secret’s Newest Angel: Who Is Elsa Hosk?

The face of Victoria’s Secret’s newest Angel might be more familiar than you’d expect. That’s because Elsa Hosk is no stranger to the fashion world.

In fact, she’s not even a Victoria’s Secret newcomer. Hosk has worked with the VS Pink brand in the past, and she’s been part of several Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows.

The news that Hosk has been promoted to a Victoria’s Secret angel comes from IMG Models, which is the agency that represents Hosk. Her profile on the modeling agency’s website reads.

“She served as a brand ambassador for its [Victoria’s Secret] Pink line for two consecutive years, and recently received the company’s prestigious ‘Contract Angel’ title.”

Hosk, a 26-year-old model from Sweden, will fill the hole left after Kailie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes decided to leave the Victoria’s Secret brand earlier this year.

Hosk will likely fit right in with the Victoria’s Secret crowd, as she’s already walked in four Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows. Her first came in 2011, and at the 2014 show, Hosk was remembered for hitting singer Ariana Grande in the face with her wings. Later, she bumped butts with the performer. The butt-bumping action seems to be in line with Popsugar’s assessment of the model, as the media outlet called Hosk “quirky and hilarious.”

Elsa Hosk’s runway shows haven’t been limited to the Victoria’s Secret brand. In addition, Hosk has been seen on the runway for Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli, and Oscar de la Renta. Her recent magazine covers include Marie Claire, Elle, and GQ. Hosk also has been seen in ad campaigns for Covergirl, Guess, and H&M.

Hosk began her modeling career when she was 15 at the urging of her father and a family friend, according to her biography on the IMG Models website. At the time, Hosk was also playing professional basketball, which she continued to do for several years after she began her modeling career.

She eventually left professional basketball behind, but the newest Victoria’s Secret Angel still keeps busy even when she’s not modeling. Hosk enjoys working out with hiking, biking, and barre, and she’s active with FAIR Girls, which is described as a girls empowerment and anti-trafficking organization.

Hosk joins current Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosia, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, and Lily Aldridge.
