Jessa Duggar Pregnant With Twins? Couple Hints There May Be Twice The Reason To Celebrate [Video]

The news is out — Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband Ben are expecting their first child.

But the couple hints that they may be expecting twice the joy in a recently-released video from TLC.

The clip begins with Jessa and her husband Ben making smoothies. Jessa coyly says to Ben, “You know, pretty soon we’ll be making another little smoothie.”

“Yeah,” husband and dad-to-be Ben replies, holding up a bottle. “Maybe more than one!”

At that, Jessa begins to giggle, still being coy. “You never know,” she says with a smile.

But that isn’t the only clue the couple is dropping that they may, in fact, be expecting twins. During the next portion of the video, Jessa looks at the camera and says, “We are so excited to announce that we are expecting a baby!”

“We can’t wait to find out if it’s a boy or a girl,” Ben says.

“What do you think it is?” Jessa asks her husband, and Ben smiles at her before answering.

“It could be both. You never know!”

The couple’s pregnancy is twelve weeks along, which is too early to detect the baby’s gender — but not too early to detect if there may be more than one baby.

“We’re 12 weeks along, and the pregnancy is going great. I’m feeling good, looking forward to the second trimester. I hear now the morning sickness and all that [goes away]. Things are going great!” Jessa says in the video.

Certainly the couple, who has been open in their desire to have lots of children, would view having twins as twice the blessing. And whether or not Jessa is pregnant with one, or two, and whether the baby is a boy, or a girl — or both — the couple still has dreams of adopting. In a recent interview with People, Jessa was quite clear on that.

“Our hearts haven’t changed on adoption,” Jessa said. “We are still making plans.”

The agency that the couple has contacted has a two-year marriage requirement. Jessa and Ben will celebrate their first anniversary on November 1 — which happens to be the due date of their first child.

But for now, Ben Seewald says the couple is just taking the time to enjoy their happy news.

“We are trying to take it one day at a time,” he says. “We pray every night that God helps us be good parents. We are getting advice from other parents.”

News of the newest Duggar grandchild in the making came quickly after Jessa’s older sister Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick welcomed son Israel David after a grueling 70-hour labor that ended in a c-section. But Jessa is not letting her sister’s labor worry her unnecessarily.

“I am not comparing, not worrying about what could happen, we are just getting prepared,” Jessa says. “I think having this first year together to share our lives, just the two of us, has been special. We are definitely excited to be parents.”
