Kill Bill Actor Michael Madsen Arrested: Felony Child Endangerment
Michael Madsen, perhaps best known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s hit films Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs, was arrested in Malibu, Los Angeles, CA after police responded to a call regarding what was apparently a family dispute at the actor’s home.
Law enforcement conveyed their perception of the events that unfolded as a physical altercation between Madsen and his juvenile son. After law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, several indications of injury were observed on Madsen’s son.
Madsen, according to TMZ, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol (not a far cry from the actor’s role in Kill Bill as alcoholic redneck Budd a.k.a. Sidewinder) when he was arrested and booked on a charge of child endangerment with cruelty to a child. The felony charge is certainly no laughing matter and will not likely be taken lightly by the parties involved.
Perry Wander, an attorney representing Michael Madsen, told TMZ:
“[Michael Madsen] found his son smoking pot and they got in an argument when he tried to take it away. It’s a family matter and Michael asks that his families privacy be respected.”
Madsen’s son did not require medical attention after the incident. Michael was released from the local Sheriff’s Department early Saturday morning and appeared to be doing alright for someone who was just released. He went on to call the whole situation a “big misunderstanding.”
If you find yourself wondering who was Michael Madsen in Kill Bill, Madsen played Bill’s redneck brother Budd a.k.a. Sidewinder who gradually became an alcoholic while living a redneck lifestyle in his mobile home. His character is eventually killed by a venomous black mamba.
