Rumer Willis Dissed: ‘DWTS’ Judge Len Goodman Disses Rumer, Calls Her Dance ‘Raunchy’
Rumer Willis was dissed on Dancing With The Stars. According to Fox 411, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore took to the ballroom floor on Monday night with her dance pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. The two danced to the song “Bootylicious,” made famous by Destiny’s Child, but judge Len Goodman said that their routine was “more bedroom than ballroom.”
“I don’t like all that raunchy stuff,” Len said. Despite the harsh criticism, Rumer and Val still scored a 32 out of 40, which was just five points lower than the highest of the night (Riker Lynch and Allison Holker scored a 37 out of 40).
After Rumer Willis was dissed by Len, she opened up about the show and how she really wants to impress the judges — and herself — week after week.
“I wish that I could get more constructive criticism… I understand that it could be a little racy… and it’s definitely something different than what we have done but it’s spring break week and it’s a jazz number to ‘Bootylicious’ so I think Val did a fantastic job of choreographing [what] we were given. Look, I get it, Len’s a very traditional guy. That was racy for me [too].”
Not too long after the show ended, Chmerkovskiy took to Instagram to post a message to his partner and to promise her that he wouldn’t let that happen again.
“So proud of you @ruelarue.. how you carry yourself and who you are as a person. A class act. I promise i will do my very best to make sure you’re shown in the light you deserve. Thank you for trusting me. I won’t let that happen again.”
Rumer Willis took being dissed as just par for the course. She knows that she has worked extremely hard, and she has been at the top (or toward the top) of the leaderboard week after week. She seems to understand where Len is coming from, but she has complete faith in Val, and the two will undoubtedly rebound from this.
Willis has been a joy to watch on this season of Dancing With The Stars. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, she has really reached out and touched people by using the platform to talk about bullying and to become a better version of herself. It has been wonderful for viewers to watch, and chances are, she’s going to be in this competition until the end… one “raunchy” dance won’t prohibit that.
Every DWTS couple has one dance that wasn’t their very best — and even though Len didn’t like this one, people are still going to vote.
Do you think Rumer and Val will make it to the finals?
