Is Demetria McKinney Quitting ‘The Real Housewives Of Atlanta,’ Or Was She Fired?
Demetria McKinney recently hinted she would not be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but could she be quitting, or was she fired?
After Demetria McKinney failed to partake in the Season 7 reunion show, which taped last month in Atlanta, many assumed that was a sign that she had been booted from the series. So, when a source told Radar Online she hadn’t been invited to the reunion, rumors immediately started to swirl, claiming the singer had been fired and would not return for Season 8.
However, as the Inquisitr reported, Demetria McKinney later revealed she had not been “banned” from the filming, but was rather too busy to partake in the taping. In a statement to Wetpaint Entertainment, Demetria McKinney revealed the following.
“There have been rumors circulating that I was fired from RHoA and ‘banned’ from the reunion set. This is completely untrue. Let me ‘Keep it 100’ :). I was not ‘banned’ from the reunion set nor was I fired from the show. I am under contract for this season just like the rest of the cast. Fortunately, because of the platform the show has provided for me, my music career has escalated and that will always come first. In addition to continuing to support RHoA, I am currently busy with my live performances as well as preparing for the upcoming Funkfest Tour that I have been added to with R. Kelly, SWV and Erykah Badu.”
In a March 30 report by Radar Online, a source claimed Demetria McKinney didn’t bring enough to the table when it came to her storyline on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Although there have been a slew of reports regarding the upcoming season eight cast, Demetria McKinney hasn’t been mentioned much at all, which may mean she will be leaving Bravo to focus solely on her music career.
In addition, an April 20 report by OK! Magazine claimed the reality star has hinted at her departure with a collage on her Instagram page.
In the caption, Demetria McKinney wrote, “I loved #HouseOfPayne, definitely learned a lot with #RHOA, and I’m looking forward to my music career since signing with @eone_music.”
While Demetria McKinney didn’t exactly say she was leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta, her speaking of past events, and mentioning her future with her new record level appeared to send a clear sign to her many fans.
