Nail Art 2015: The Man Manicure, Bluetooth Nails, And 3D Printed Nail Anime
Nail art 2015 is all about the unexpected and technology, with man manicures, Bluetooth nails that control your gadgetry, and 3D printed nail art anime from Japan.
As reported recently in the Inquisitr, nail art was the focus of New York fashion week 2015.
Man manicures are becoming increasingly popular, and we can expect even more companies to offer manicure styles that celebrate manhood. Aside from the sensible buffing and polishing that some manly men already enjoy, bolder man manicure offerings are on the market.
Check out the packaging on the Man Glaze and NCLA polishes currently marketed for manly manicures. As Bustle recently reported, there is a renewed focus on manicures for men.
Masculinity appears to be embracing nail art, and women are loving this! There are more decals and nail art options available for men than ever before, including nautical nail art decal designs via Julep, and sports themed nail art is appealing to male and female sports fans alike. Other male inspired nail art themes that are becoming increasingly popular are tartans and flags.
Traditional symbols of male virility and potency, such as those typical in male jewelry design, are bound to become huge features of manly nail art in 2015. Look for nail art decals honoring men’s renewed interest in the manicure, including the iconic horn, the cross, the skull and crossbones, and animal totem nail decals for men.
What man doesn’t love small techie gadgets? The new and astonishing Bluetooth nails from MIT are bound to become a must-have man manicure item!
According to a report by Fast Code Design, the NailO is set to be shown at the upcoming CHI 2015 Conference in Seoul, South Korea.
“It’s called NailO, and it’s really not much more than a smart sticker you put on your thumb nail, like nail art. But the sticker is really a sandwich of circuits comprising a touch sensor, battery, and Bluetooth radio. Stroking your nail while it’s connected to your MacBook could make the screen scroll up or down. You could also pair it with something like a Philips Hue to automatically adjust the light, or even use the NailO to type serendipitous messages into a device. (Although you’d better be good at Morse Code.)”
3D printed nail art is also a 2015 trend worth noting. In an astonishing tribute to nail art and stop motion animation, a Japanese team of artists has taken the entire concept of nail art to a brand new playing field. As reported recently in Designboom, over 500 3D printed nails were used during the filming of ‘Transforming.’
Check out the short film, “Transforming,” in the video below, and visit YouTube to watch the intriguing videos about how this tribute to body art, film, and technology was made. This stop-animation video was created by Planner/Director Mizuki Kawano and Producer Yuna Takayama from Taiyokikaku Co., Ltd.
