Mariah Carey Is Releasing A New Album And Starting A Residency At Caesars Palace
According to Billboard, Mariah Carey is releasing a new album on May 18. Her #1 To Infinity album will contain all 18 of her top hits that have been placed in chronological order of when they became the No. 1 hit on the music charts. The collection is a compilation of top hits fans already have. Sales will are expected to soar because people will probably want to buy all the hits together on one track.
Carey’s album will have 15 Sony No. 1’s and three Universal No. 1’s. The last song on the album is a new one called “Infinity.” ShowBiz411 says the gist of the song is that “Infinity isn’t forever.”
This new album is the first one with Epic Records since leaving Island Def Jam last year. With Epic Records, the famous pop singer will be working with L.A. Reid again, and that’s a good thing. They have been successful working together before, and fans believe they can be successful working together again on future albums. Reid says he is thrilled to be working with Carey again.
“There is really no one who comes close to Mariah as both a songwriter and a singer, and as the world knows, her vocal range is legendary and truly incomparable. Her music is indelibly etched into our culture, and she’s shattered so many chart records that she’s now firmly entrenched in the history books. With a fierce and loyal fan base that covers every corner of the globe, I have no doubt Mariah will do it again.”
A few days before her new album comes out, Mariah will start a her first-ever residency in Las Vegas with her first show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 6. Eighteen dates of her show are already on sale where the 46-year-old singer will perform all the hits from the new album along with fan favorites and never-before-performed material.
Caesars Palace is welcoming Mariah to her new home in a special event on Monday, April 27 at 6 p.m. Mariah is taking the place of Celine Dion following reports that Dion is taking care of her ill husband, Rene Angelil. Dion is not expected to return until later this year or early 2016.
Tickets for “Mariah Carey’s shows range in price from $55 to $250 and will be on sale through July 26. Purchases can be made through Caesars website. When Carey made the official announcement back in January on the Ellen DeGeneres show, she was emotional. She said, “It’s a new chapter for me, and I’m just excited about it.”
