Kim Richards Sobriety: Was Reality TV Star Drinking During Filming Of ‘RHOBH’?

Whether Kim Richards was sober while filming the fifth season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is in question after the reality TV star’s arrest last week. Although she claimed throughout the entire season she was sober and had not suffered a relapse, sources close to production say otherwise.

According to TMZ, cast and crew connected to the show are divided when it comes to Kim’s sobriety during filming. Several sources say Richards’ claims of being sober throughout the entire season were just not true. However, not all of the cast and crew agree and some say the reality TV star was doing better than ever in regards to her sobriety while the cameras were rolling.

Kim Richards’ sobriety was a central theme to the fifth season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, with newcomers Eileen Davidson and Lisa Rinna frequently questioning whether their co-star had relapsed based on Richards’ behavior during filming. While the two new Housewives had no problem calling Kim out on the issue, veteran cast members are said to have turned a blind eye in broaching the topic to avoid facing their co-star’s wrath, which may be understandable considering Kim’s behavior towards her friends and family, as well as the attacks against co-stars who dared to question her. As US Weekly reports, close friends and family was having trouble dealing with her due to Kim’s horrible behavior towards them leading up to Thursday’s arrest.

“Kim has been on the outs from her family recently. Things are so bad that nobody can deal with her. You can’t even talk to her for two seconds — she turns horrible to everybody.”

While some of the cast and crew believe Kim Richards tried to hide her drinking while filming the fifth season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, other sources close to the show believe the reality star was doing better with her addiction than she has in years and was not drinking at all.

Whether Kim Richards was drinking during filming of this season of RHOBH may be a moot point when it comes to her position on the sixth season of the show due to her arrest for public intoxication on Thursday. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Bravo may not be willing to take on the liability of having the RHOBH star return for another season. Sources close to the show say Bravo execs have no desire to work with Kim Richards unless and until she gets help with her addiction.
