NBC’s ‘Constantine’: Find Out When The Fate Of John Constantine Will Be Decided
NBC’s embattled supernatural detective show Constantine has had fans on edge for months now. The final episode of season 1 aired on February 13 (Friday the 13th). Since then, rumors, updates, and more rumors have plagued Constantine fans. As April comes to a close, John Constantine will finally know the fate of his show, and so will his fans.
According to Comicbook, the long-awaited Constantine season 2 news is but a mere nine days away. An NBC source has said that the anticipated official meeting date for the fate of the Constantine show is April 27. It is projected that deliberations over the fate of the NBC show will continue through May, but an expected decision is to be handed down before June.
Recently, a report that has since been redacted, suggested the show had already been given the axe. Daniel Cerone, one of the Constantine producers, had to put that to rest.
“I just received confirmation from the corporate offices at NBC. I was assured that Constantine has not been canceled and our pitch meeting to discuss a potential second season remains on the books. By the way, this is a pitch meeting involving the president of Warner Bros and the entertainment heads of NBC. Nobody at this incredibly busy time of the development season has time to waste taking pointless meetings.”
Cerone has been regularly, or sometimes upon request, updating fans on the fate of Constantine. Sadly, it would appear Cerone himself is just as much on the sidelines as Constantine fans. With the recent report, it means #Save Constantine fans have a little over a week to make the push for their fledging show. If the Constantine show does not survive, some have said Matt Ryan and/or the character could survive to pop up in Guillermo Del Toro’s Justice League Dark film.
However, IGN did report that Del Toro might not end up directing the supernatural/magical comic book hero adaptation. He did state the film will go on with or without him, one wonders with the potential failure of NBC’s Constantine and Del Toro potentially exiting, will the film get dropped as well?
The Inquisitr has been following all the meeting changes, shuffles, and potential cancellations. Constantine is facing an uncertain fate, but fans should not despair. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.
#Save Constantine people fight on. The fate of your NBC show is counting on you.
