Joan Jett: Tears Flow As Miley Cyrus Inducts Her Into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame With Pot And Pasties Panache [Video]
Joan Jett let the tears flow freely as legends such as Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono showed their love with a standing ovation at the 2015 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Dishing on topics ranging from her fellow band members to Miley Cyrus, Joan expressed her appreciation, reported the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
“To see the room stand up like that and applaud to that degree was pretty amazing. I was trying to not bawl, because unless you could see how people just did not think girls could play rock and roll,” Joan recalled of her past. “It was overwhelming.”
In addition to talking about her musical career, Joan mused about Miley Cyrus, who announced that she desired to have romantic relations with Jett.

“You want to turn everyone on,” declared Joan. “Whether you’re singing about life, love death, you want to be able to relate to both sexes.”
And Jett paid tribute to Miley.
“If Miley says that, it’s great. I think she’s a rock and roller at heart, and she acts like it.”
But although Joan is known for her tough girl charm, she confessed that she couldn’t stop from crying, reported the Columbus Dispatch.
“I tried not to cry and be tough,” Joan said while letting her mascara smear from the tears.
In addition to Joan, Ringo Starr joined the Blackhearts, Green Day, Bill Withers, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and the “5” Royales in being honored. Jett kicked off the evening with “Bad Reputation.”

But it was Miley’s induction speech for Joan that attracted the most attention.
“She’s what Superwoman really should be. The first to do many things, not just as a woman, but as a bada** babe on the planet,” declared Cyrus.
Joan described her relationship with rock and roll as a lifestyle.
“I come from a place where rock and roll means something. It’s more than music, more than fashion, more than a pose. It’s a subculture of rebellion, frustration, alienation and the groove. … Rock and roll ethic is my entire life.”
To honor Joan, Miley chose heart-shaped pasties complete with Joan’s initials to cover her breasts but later changed into more conventional attire to give her speech, reported People.
“I’m going to start off this induction with the first time I wanted to have sex with Joan Jett,” Miley announced.
She then recalled smoking pot with Joan in her bathroom prior to an Oprah appearance.
“The show was where new artists got to perform with their idols, and I wanted to perform with Joan, of course. And we were in her bathroom, and we were smoking and just talking, and this was one of the moments in my life where I wanted to be as present and absorb everything that she said to me.”
Courting controversy has become the name of the publicity game for Miley Cyrus, as the Inquisitr reported. Most recently, faced with rising rumors that she was pregnant, Miley mocked them with a parody showing that she had a baby bump resulting from too much pizza.
