Kim Richards Fired From ‘RHOBH’? Arrest May Cause Bravo To Cut Reality Star From Sixth Season
Kim Richards’ arrest for public intoxication on Thursday may be proving too much for Bravo producers. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s recent legal troubles may get her fired.
TMZ reports Bravo execs now feel Kim’s substance abuse is a liability, one in which the network may not be willing to take on for the sixth season of RHOBH. If something were to happen to the reality star, producers do not want to be responsible for having kept her on such a “contentious, demanding show.” Talks are in the works on whether to bring Kim Richards back for another season, and one option execs are taking into consideration is “giving Kim the ax.”
Kim Richards’ struggles with addiction have been chronicled on the show since its inception. Throughout the entire fifth season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Rinna questioned whether her co-star was suffering a relapse. During the three-part RHOBH reunion, Kim maintained she has been sober for three years.
According to TMZ, Rinna and the other Housewives may have been correct to question their co-star’s sobriety. Sources close to the show say Kim Richards’ substance abuse problem was in “full bloom” throughout the entire fifth season.
“Several members of the cast and crew say they’ve watched Kim present a public picture of sobriety, but when the cameras are off she goes off the rails.”
Other production sources insist, however, the reality TV star did better this season in regards to her sobriety than at any other time in the show’s history. These sources think it is hypocritical for Bravo to turn its back on the star now and wonder if she was such a liability, why producers exploited her all year.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, some question whether watching the three-part RHOBH reunion less than two days before her arrest is what sent the reality star over the edge; however, sources close to production say the show had nothing to do with Kim Richards’ erratic behavior and arrest. According to US Weekly, Bravo has no desire to film with Richards until she receives help for her addiction.
“There’s no interest in putting her back on television unless she’s addressed her issues. The show didn’t trigger her addiction – and her recovery also needs to happen outside of it.”
Although her return to the show is questionable as far as Bravo execs are concerned, Kim Richards recently revealed she would love to come back for the sixth season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
