The Beverly Hills Police Department was behind the arrest of Real Housewives star Kim Richards on Thursday morning. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Richards was taken into custody after a wild night out at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which reportedly involved alcohol and an alleged assault.
On April 16, Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Lt. Lincoln Hoshino released a statement to Us Weekly .
According to the Beverly Hills Police Department’s report, 50-year-old Richards appeared to have “had too much to drink and was disturbing some of the other patrons” at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s restaurant. After being asked to leave the premises by hotel security, the longtime addict refused, instead entering a restroom, and refusing to come out.
“Hotel security requested to make a Private Persons Arrest and [Beverly Hill Police Department] officers entered the restroom and took her into custody. She was passively resisting and she was taken into custody on Private Person Arrest.”
Then, the report claimed, Richards became violent during her booking at the Beverly Hills Police Department, and allegedly kicked an officer.
Following the ordeal, Richards was cited and released. She is currently facing a number of charges, including public intoxication, trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer.
In addition to the Beverly Hills Police’s statement, a source inside the hotel spoke to Radar Online , claiming the reality star was “drinking vodka tonics all night.”
“At some point after midnight, the bartender decided that Kim had enough to drink, and refused to serve her. She became very, very angry, and loudly said, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ She eventually locked herself in a bathroom and was refusing to come out and causing a scene. Cops had to be called at that point.”
The Beverly Hills Police eventually arrived to the scene to arrest Richards, who has struggled with addiction for many years. As fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills saw on season five, Richards appeared to suffer a relapse on the show after taking one of her ex-husband’s prescription pain pills. While Richards refused to acknowledge the slip up as a relapse, many fans would disagree.
Either way, it looks like Richards is in need of serious help and support at this time.
Richards will face her charges in court on May 10, although it was previously reported, not by the Beverly Hills Police Department, but by press, that Richards’ court date was June 10.
