In the midst of Madonna’s kiss, Drake released a new song that’s set to appear on the re-release of his mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late .
As of late, all the attention has been on Drake and Madonna’s kiss during Coachella. It was thought that Drake was disgusted by her stunt. However, he says that it was a moment that’ll keep him “100 forever.” Well, it seems, because of that, many missed Drake’s new track titled “My Side.”
“Why you never come to where I stay? Always hanging out in your New York condo.”
This is one of the main questions he asks in the song. The focus of the track seems to be centered around a woman he’s pursuing. As can be noticed, Drake’s relationship status has been an interesting topic. From talks of Rihanna to Bernice Burgos , it’s almost unclear on who the rapper has his sights.
In Drake’s “My Side,” he makes an interesting statement.
“Why are wasting our relationship on a relationship. Why are we rushing and forcing. It isn’t making sense? Why are we focused on things that don’t even mean nothing, girl? Why can we not find the time to sit down and discuss it, girl?…
“Why are we wasting our relationship on a relationship. You know how sticky this situations get. You go up higher than me some days. You know what, I think we could be, someday…
“…Let me, at least, show you my side of things.”
Is Drake talking to the person with whom he’s in a relationship presently? Or is he referring to someone else?
Also, why do you think Drake released the song?
Maybe it’s a similar situation as to when he released “6 God,” “How Bout Now,” and “Heat of the Moment”? According to Rolling Stone , who he also mentions in “ You and the 6 ,” Drake’s music had been hacked, and he knew it was only a matter of time before it was leaked. So, Drake leaked the songs himself, then tweeted about it.
“That wasn’t an EP. Just 3 songs that I knew some hackers had. But enjoy! Back to this album.”
Do you think this is why he’s pushing “My Side” out as well. From the audio files found on the internet, Drake’s song already appears leaked. So, what do you think is the motive for placing the track on his mixtape album?
