Randy Moss Reportedly Working Out With New Orleans Saints
Randy Moss isn’t on the official New Orleans Saints roster yet, but the future hall of famer has reportedly started to work out with the team.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that Moss, who is one of the best receivers in NFL history, will work out with the defending NFC South champions on Tuesday. According to Fox, Moss won’t be catching passes from the recently franchise tagged Drew Brees. Instead, the Saints are bringing in former Packers quarterback Brian Brohm to throw some passes to Moss.
Moss retired before the 2011 season but announced a few weeks ago that he was considering a comeback. The Saints are just one team in the NFL that may be interested in signing Moss for 2012.
If the Saints do sign Randy Moss he could prove to be an extremely dangerous threat when paired with Drew Brees. That is, if the New Orleans Saints can keep Brees happy.
Brees recently received the franchise tag from the New Orleans Saints but not the big contract that he was hoping for. Brees is reportedly “livid” with the franchise tag and may not sign it.
If the Saints can keep Brees happy and sign Randy Moss, a few more NFL records could fall in 2012. Moss holds the record for most touchdowns in a season, 23, has 153 total TD completions (2nd all-time), and close to 15,000 reception yards (6th all-time). Moss may have lost a step over the years, but with Brees, who just set a record for most passing yards in a season, he should still be a pretty big threat.
