The 2016 CMT Music Awards brought out all the biggest names in country music and beyond to Nashville’s Bridgestone arena on June 8, which made for some hot, and not so hot, red carpet fashions.
Take a look at what Carrie Underwood, Fifth Harmony, Nicole Kidman, and more wore when they hit the 2016 CMT Awards red carpet.
The Best
Carrie Underwood
Never one to disappoint when she hits a red carpet, Carrie Underwood stunned at the 2016 CMT awards, where she took home two awards, in a multicolored floral floor-length gown. The first of three looks Carrie rocked during the night even perfectly matched the event’s magenta carpet and the pink and turquoise themed backdrop.
Fifth Harmony
Fifth Harmony, who were recently described as being the biggest girl band in the world right now, hit the CMT Awards red carpet looking every inch superstars in matching white ensembles before they took to the CMT stage to perform with rising country star Cam.
Ally Brooke opted for a long-sleeve, sheer, floor-length gown, while Fifth Harmony bandmate Normani Kordei heated things up at the country award show in a plunging satin dress. Dinah Jane changed things up in a lace long-sleeve jumpsuit, while Lauren Jauregui and Camila Cabello also stayed within the band’s white theme, sporting stunning long white gowns for their big CMT awards arrival.
Sam Hunt
Steering clear of the standard suit and tie, “Take Your Time” singer and nominee Sam Hunt opted for something a little more eye-catching when he hit the CMT Awards. Hunt kept thing fresh in a black and white patterned polo shirt but kept things a little more formal on the bottom with tailored black pants.
Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker
Rising country star Jessie James Decker and her football-playing husband, Eric Decker, heated up the CMT Awards red carpet with their coordinating ensembles. Just months after giving birth to the couple’s second child, Jessie stunned on the red carpet in a strapless, and seriously sheer, teal lace dress while Eric coordinated with his wife in a teal blazer and white pants.
Erin Andrews
CMT Awards returning host Erin Andrews, who enjoyed several wardrobe changes during her hosting duties alongside J.J. Watt, hit the CMT red carpet in an Old Hollywood-inspired sparkly silver gown teamed with sophisticated white pumps that were perfect for the big country occasion.
Leona Lewis
Leona Lewis, who was nominated for her first CMT Award for her CMT Artists of the Year performance of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” with Adam Lambert, stunned when she hit the country award show’s red carpet in a red satin gown with draped sleeves.
The Worst
Jamie Lynn Spears
Rising country star and former Zoey 101 actress Jamie Lynn Spears looked every inch the star when she walked the red carpet in a sparkly romper, but despite dressing up her CMT Awards look with sparkly heels, Jamie Lynn’s choice of outfit just looked too casual next to the gowns on the award show’s red carpet.
Nicole Kidman
Despite the June summer sun beating down in Nashville, Nicole Kidman opted to stay away from light colors and fabrics in favor of a black sequin dress with a plunging neckline. Taking to the CMT Awards red carpet in support of husband Keith Urban, Kidman’s heavier dress, black kitten heels, and long necktie just seemed a little too out of season for the summer event.
Pharell Williams
Appearing at the CMT Awards to perform with Little Big Town, Pharrell Williams took mismatched camouflage to a whole new level when he walked the red carpet at the country award show. For his CMT look, Williams opted to team his muted camouflage pants with a leaf patterned sweatshirt and a camouflage baseball cap.
