Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones Relationship Back On Track And In Love Again
Actor Michael Douglas and his marriage to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is back on track, and they are back in love, according to the latest scoop from Page Six. The celebrity couple’s growing marital troubles made headlines in 2013, when fans and top celebrity gossip shows started to notice that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were making public appearances on the red carpet — separately.
Paparazzi photos also showed the Hollywood couple on separate vacations. Confirmation of their separation was finally understood when it was revealed that Traffic actress Catherine Zeta-Jones had abruptly left their lavish home. The announcement was made by People Magazine, followed by an acknowledgement from the couple’s publicist, Allen Burry.
“Michael and Catherine are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There is no further comment.”
At the time, many speculated that the break up had a lot to do with Zeta-Jones’ mental condition since it had been discovered that the actress was suffering from bipolar disorder. However, the break-up was only temporary, and months later, they were back together again. There are a couple of things that can account for why the two ended up back together: Their undying love for each other and the fact that Michael Douglas is simply wild for Catherine.
In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Basic Instinct and A Perfect Murder actor Michael Douglas made the following comment about his relationship and marriage to the beautiful Zeta-Jones.
“It can’t be a one-way street. I’m crazy about her … I think every couple has their difficult times. The only problem is, as you well know, we’re all in the public eye and it tends to get a little more exposed than most.”
Now fans are happy to see one of their longtime favorite Hollywood couple’s push forward and make it through the terrible times. Douglas told Ellen DeGeneres that a reconciliation is only possible if both people in the relationship are willing to make it work.
“If both of you are willing you know to do it.”
Michael and Catherine met around 1996 at the Deauville Film Festival, where she was told by a friend that Michael Douglas was interested in meeting her. The relationship started slowly and evolved into a friendship before anything sexual happened between them. Eventually, the famous duo fell in love and married in a lavish ceremony that was likened to a “royal wedding,” a wedding guest told People in 2000.
As Douglas stated, every couple has problems and difficulties that have to be overcome, and it looks like this celebrity couple has done just that.
“I find divorces repulsive. I will never get divorced, never,” stated Catherine Zeta-Jones many years ago.
Fans will get to see Catherine Zeta-Jones in an upcoming movie based on the life of Colombian queen pin, Griselda Blanco. The Inquisitr reported earlier that Zeta-Jones will play the Latina gangster woman in the movie entitled The Godmother.
