Selection Sunday is one of the greatest days in the life of college basketball coaches, players, and fans. Well, it’s either the greatest or most disappointing, because it shows what seed a team will have or if their bubble ended up being burst. The full brackets have now been released, and here are the seeds for all 68 teams in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Before the SEC Final between Kentucky and Arkansas even began on Sunday, it was revealed that the Wildcats would have the number one overall seed in the tournament, no matter what happened. Per CBS Sports , Dan Gavitt , NCAA Vice President of Men’s Basketball Operations, confirmed it to be true.
“The committee still feels very strongly that the first two lines involves eight teams, at least, that are very deserving of consideration on both lines. I will say though that the committee is very committed I think at this point after today’s result of Kentucky beating Auburn that regardless of tomorrow’s outcome of the SEC championship game, Kentucky will be the No. 1 overall seed in the field.”
With that being said, the Wildcats won the SEC Final and undoubtedly took the number one overall seed in the tournament. Many others went as have been predicted, and Duke Basketball Report actually had many quite close.
Here are the seeds per Selection Sunday’s results. Remember, the NCAA Tournament is now 68 teams big and no longer just 64. There will be four First Round games to determine which teams get four of the remaining seeds.
