The biggest night in music has arrived, as the 2015 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles tonight. The live show aired at 8 p.m. on CBS. Viewers have been taking to Twitter to exclaim how “boring” the awards show is this year. The 57th Annual Grammy Awards has been featuring performances with ballads and artists from yesteryear.
AC/DC opened the Grammy Awards with their performance of “Rock or Bust.” The popular rock band then led into a performance of their popular song “Highway to H***.” Rock lovers seemed to be impressed by the performance. They loved that the Grammys opened with a band that actually plays instruments, writes their own lyrics, and doesn’t use auto-tune.

Ariana Grande then performed her new single “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.” Some viewers weren’t sure why the pop diva would choose such a slow song to perform. Even fans on Twitter thought she should’ve chose a more uptempo song like “Break Free” or “Love Me Harder.” According to Cleveland.com , Grande’s performance of her single was “extremely boring.”
There were plenty of ballads to go around tonight at the Grammy Awards. The list of slow performances includes Sam Smith, Usher, and Kanye West. The Grammys also featured many old artists like Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Electric Light Orchestra, and Tony Bennett. It’s unclear who the chosen demographic was at the Grammys tonight.
Katy Perry even performed a ballad at the Grammy Awards. President Obama gave a pre-taped speech about ending violence against women and urging Grammy artists to help out , according to Extra TV . A survivor of domestic violence shares her story with Katy Perry performing her new single “By The Grace of God.”
Even fans on Twitter were already bored by the performances on the Grammys. Some took to Twitter to exclaim how boring the highly-anticipated awards show was.

The standout performance of the Grammy Awards was Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney, who performed their hit single “FourFiveSeconds.” Though the single is also a ballad, it had people riveted to their seats. Some viewers were impressed by Rihanna’s vocals in her live performance.
Another standout performance was Sia’s “Chandelier.” Kristen Wiig and Maddie Ziegler (from Dance Moms fame) recreated the dance from the controversial music video. The performance art piece had people applauding on their feet. However, some viewers at home were confused and thought the performance was another Saturday Night Live gag.
Album of the Year winner Beck joined Chris Martin for a performance of “Heart Is A Drum,” another ballad. The hashtag #WhoIsBeck was trending on Twitter. It’s an obvious sign that the Grammy Awards didn’t get their chosen demographic right. However, Beck has been in the music industry for more than two decades, according to Cleveland.com .
Beyoncé performed the gospel song, “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.” It was followed by John Legend and Common, who sang the Oscar-nominated song “Glory” from the Martin Luther King Jr. movie Selma . The religious and political tone to the performance led to the closing of the Grammys.

Viewers were already warned the Grammy Awards would feature old acts. According to a recent report on the Inquisitr , the awards show promised to have something for everyone, with having artists and performers of all genres this year. The Grammys obviously wanted to reach out to an older demographic by featuring artists of the past.
The awards show also added religion and politics to the mix. But did it work? Did you watch the Grammy Awards all night, or did you turn it off?
