Patricia Heaton Apologizes For Tweets Against Sandra Fluke

Patricia Heaton, the star of “The Middle” and “Everybody Loves Raymond,” temporarily deleted her Twitter account after she made several comments about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke. Heaton has now apologized for her comments.

Heaton said:

“Mea culpa Sandra! Wasn’t being respectful 2 u re my tweets as I hope people wd b w/me. Don’t like you being dissed -so sorry.”

If you can’t decipher that, she later told the LA Times:

“I apologized to Ms Fluke last week. I may not agree with her views but I didn’t treat her with respect and I’m sorry. I was wrong. Mea Culpa.”

Heaton sent her controversial comments toward Ms. Fluke shortly after Rush Limbaugh called the Georgetown student a “slut” and a “prostitute” over her stance on birth control.

Heaton tweeted:

“Hey G-Town Gal: Plz let us also pay for your Starbucks, movie theater tickets and your favorite hot wings combo deal at KFC! Anything else?”

And then:

“Hey G-Town Gal: If your parents have to pay for your birth control, maybe they should get a say in who you sleep with! Instant birth control!”

And finally:

“If every Tweaton sent Georgetown Gal one condom, her parents wouldn’t have to cancel basic cable, & she would never reproduce — sound good?”

Do you think Fluke should accept Heaton’s apology? It seems even more forced than Rush Limbaugh’s.

Limbaugh has lost several sponsors since the incident despite issuing multiple apologies to Fluke. Prominent politicians, like Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Newt Gingrich have also criticized Limbaugh for his comments.

Paul said that Limbaugh only apologized because he was losing sponsors. Paul said:

“He’s doing it because some people were taking their advertisements off of his program. It was his bottom line he was concerned about… I don’t think he’s very apologetic… It’s in his best interest, that’s why he did it.”

Do you think Patricia Heaton will lose fans over her comments?
