Katherine Jenkins Pregnant: Former ‘DWTS’ Celeb Expecting First Baby
Former Dancing With the Stars contestant Katherine Jenkins is pregnant and expecting her first baby with husband Andrew Levitas. The opera singer made the announcement via Instagram and fans are thrilled for her. What’s the scoop from the former DWTS star?
Jenkins broke the news by posting a picture with a pink pair of baby shoes sitting on top of a framed photo of Katherine and her husband on their wedding day. Along with the photo came Katherine Jenkin’s pregnancy announcement making sure that the message was clear.
The singer wrote, “Couldn’t be more excited to meet our little girl! #MummyToBe #DaddyToBe #ArtProject #Collaboration #Family @andrewlevitas.”
As Hello notes, Andrew shared the news via his Instagram at the same time and fans were excited to congratulate them both on the exciting news. Just a matter of months ago, Jenkins said that she was quite anxious to have a family with her husband. She also indicated that when and if a baby came, she planned to take some time away from singing to embrace becoming a mom.
Jenkins and Levitas didn’t wait terribly long after marrying to start their family. Katherine and Andrew got married in September 2014 in a private affair at the Hampton Court Palace. Jenkins, 34, wore a traditional wedding gown and her Welsh heritage was fully embraced at the event.
The two quietly started dating about six months before becoming engaged, only going public as a couple a month or so before he proposed in April 2014. A few months later they were married and now their first baby is on the way.
Levitas, an American, is a filmmaker, artist and sculptor, and he is a professor at New York University. Many will remember that Katherine had a very high-profile engagement and split from Gethin Jones prior to her DWTS stint. As the Telegraph shared at the time, Jenkins was said to be devastated by the split that left many fans stunned.
A few months after Jenkins split from Jones, she joined Dancing With the Stars. She was partnered with Mark Ballas, but for quite some time it was rumored that Derek Hough is the DWTS pro who really caught her eye. Mark and Katherine lost out to Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd for that season’s mirror-ball trophy.
Clearly the past couple of years have been quite the wild ride for the Welsh opera singer, but it seems she’s in a fantastic place in her life now. Congratulations to Andrew Levitas and Katherine Jenkins on the pregnancy news!
