Singer Pink On Recent Weight Gain: ‘I Feel Beautiful’

Is anyone surprised that outspoken singer Pink took to Twitter to defend herself and her apparent weight gain?

Shortly after Pink stepped out to a cancer benefit on Saturday, the negative Tweets started rolling in, she said. Most of the negativity focused on one thing: the way Pink looked.

Despite what others may think, Pink says she’s happy with her current size. Soon after she started receiving criticism, the “So What” singer shot back a message of her own, essentially telling critics to back off.

“I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s (Saturday) cancer benefit that I attended to support my dead friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful.”

Pink sent the full tweet as a screen shot from her phone. In the tweet, Pink, 35, goes on to say that she’s perfectly happy, and her “healthy, voluptuous, and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off.” Pink attended the cancer benefit with her husband, Carey Hart. Shortly after sharing her original tweet telling critics to back off, Pink went on to tell fans that Hart is happy with Pink’s body.

Though he wasn’t quite as direct as his wife, Hart defending Pink’s weight gain on Instagram, saying that Pink “was looking great!” In the same Instagram post, Hart shared a photo of Pink in the dress that she said photographed better in her kitchen. She stands on the left in a black dress with a plunging neckline, while Hart stands on the right, looking like he’s “going to court” he said.

Wifey and i last night at the #JohnWayneCancerInstitute event to see our friend Maggie receive the duke award. Great event w/ a lot of amazing people doing great things to try to find a cure for cancer. Must note that me in a suit w/ a shaved head and neck tattoos, looks like im going to court. Wife was looking great though!!!!

Pink and Carey Hart , who have been married since 2006, have a daughter together. On Saturday, Pink also mentioned that her daughter, Willow, had questioned her weight gain. In response, Pink told Willow that mom was so squishy because she’s happy.

What do you think of Pink, her weight gain, her dress, and her willingness to defend herself against critics?
