Jill Duggar Dishes On New Dad Derick Dillard’s Burping Skills But Did ’19 Kids’ Star Have C-Section? [Photos]
19 Kids And Counting co-star Jill Duggar is proud to reveal the new daddy skills of her husband, Derick Dillard. With their just-born son, Israel David, brightening their lives, Jill and Derick are quickly learning what it means to be parents, reported People.
Although Jill has 15 younger sisters and brothers, Derick doesn’t have a lot of experience with issues such as poopy diapers and burping. But the 23-year-old claims that her husband has quickly picked up those essential skills.
Only two hours after the 23-inch-long, 10-pound baby was born, Derick was changing diapers like a champion dad. Jill revealed that the 26-year-old also stars at burping and bathing their tiny infant.
“I have a really steep learning curve, but I think I’m catching on fast!” boasted Derick. “I’m a little bit exhausted.”
And part of that exhaustion may result from the concern that the entire family experienced when Jill’s planned home birth had to change to a hospital birth, reported Radar Online.
Jill herself revealed that the baby’s birth did not go as expected, leading that statement to cause fans to flood social media with rumors that Duggar had a cesarean section.
“I’m going to guess he was a c-section by his nicely shaped head,” said one fan.
In addition, a Facebook photo showed Derick wearing scrubs (below), which fans speculated would be required for a C-section.
But fans won’t have the answer until May 5, when the 19 Kids And Counting episode featuring Jill’s birth will be broadcast.
In the meantime, Jill and Derick have lots of help from the hospital staff and Duggar family, with Jill telling People that she’s been overwhelmed with acts of kindness from Derick’s family as well.
“We are so blessed to have such a great family and such great support here at the hospital with the doctors and the nursing staff. My sisters and my mom and Derick’s mom have all been in to help!”
As for all her brothers, sisters, and other relatives, they’re thrilled as well.
“Everyone is over the moon and so excited about him being born,” added Jill.
As the Inquisitr reported, Jill Duggar’s baby was overdue, and fans excitedly kept seeking 19 Kids And Counting “Baby Watch” news on the family’s Facebook page. Derick was hoping for an Easter baby.
“Still waiting to meet our little guy. Maybe we’ll have an Easter baby! #jillmdillard #babydilly”
But Jill stayed calm.
“I can’t even describe right now the anticipation I am feeling, as I am about to get to meet my firstborn son for the first time face to face. So many people have already testified that nothing can quite describe that moment and that I’ll just have to experience it for myself.”
