2 Chainz has denied reports that he was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco over the weekend.

Multiple outlets reported that the rapper and his entourage were the victims of a crime on Sunday afternoon . Although initial reports were sketchy at best, San Francisco police later confirmed the incident took place.

Authorities said on Monday that 2 Chainz — whose real name is Tauheed Epps — was robbed near the 800 block of Howard Street. Some reports suggested that at least two gunshots were heard during the incident.

“Mr. Epps is listed as a victim of a stolen wallet containing credit cards, U.S. currency and a cell phone,” a police official explained to MTV News .

As news about the crime swept through social media, the rapper decided to address the situation on Twitter. According to him, he wasn’t the victim of a crime during his time in San Francisco.

“If a rapper gets robbed people usually post items that has been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money, etc. To answer that question,” 2 Chainz wrote on the micro-blogging site.

The rapper’s response to the incident is a little different than the initial report from Radio.com . According to the site, 2 Chainz and his entourage were approached by at least three men at around 4:30 pm on Sunday. When one of the robbers fired a shot, the rapper’s entourage ran while he dropped to the ground. He was then robbed by the suspects.

However, apparently nothing of the sort took place. You can find the rapper’s tweets on the subject embedded below.
