Some women are gluttons for punishment. Especially when they are a multiple bigamist who married ten men in a period of eleven years, six of which were in one year alone. Remember that song that has a chorus line that went something like, “I do, I do, I do, I do”? It could be her theme song.
The problem is, Lianna Barrientos, 39, who hails from the Dominican Republic, apparently never got around to divorcing them all, making her a possible record-breaking multiple bigamist.
After she was caught out, Barrientos told authorities that her tenth marriage, in 2010, was her first. However, after a detective did a bit of investigating, it was found she was lying and that she was, indeed, a multiple bigamist. All the marriages took place in New York state, making it relatively easy for the detective to track them all down.

What turned up was 10 marriage licenses, all containing Barrientos’ Social Security number, her date and place of birth as well as the names of her parents.
Reportedly her first marriage was to Mohamed Berbril on November 5, 1999, and the tenth marriage license, dated August 3, 2002, when she married Kakhaber Khorbaladze, was the last, as well as the sixth for that year alone

Authorities are still trying to work out her motive for so many marriages. However, according to the New York Daily Post , there was a similar case back in 2010 in the Bronx where another woman was exposed as running a cash-for-citizenship scam. In that case, however, the multiple bigamist only got as far as husband number five before being caught out.

Apparently when Barrientos was arrested in November last year, it was found she had a rap sheet going back to 1997 showing arrests for loitering and drug possession in Manhattan.
Reportedly there was also another Manhattan case back in 2007 which was sealed and a trespassing bust in 2010, as well as yet another drug bust in 2012.
When the New York Daily Post tried to interview Barrientos, a man who answered her door in the Grand Concourse apartments told them she had moved into a homeless shelter. That’s a long way to go down from being a multiple bigamist with so many husbands.
According to the Daily Mail , Barrientos did actually divorce four of the ten husbands and they say the Department of Homeland Security is now “involved” in the case, so she could be in a whole heap of trouble for being a multiple bigamist.
There’s a bit of bigamy going around, as the Inquisitr reported a while back that U.S. Congressman Alan Grayson’s wife might be guilty of bigamy, although obviously not on such a huge scale.
