Sonja Morgan Hurt Ramona Singer Confided In Dorinda Medley More, Thinks Ramona Now Knows How Men Can Be
It looks as if a central storyline for Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New York City will be the state of Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer’s friendship. While the two have been close and each other’s allies for several seasons now, the premiere episode for the latest season, which aired on Tuesday night, showed the two having a big disconnect while having lunch at a restaurant together.
The episode showed Ramona seeing for Sonja for the first time since the demise of her 25-year marriage to Mario Singer. As Ramona talks about how difficult and painful the situation has been for her, Sonja brings up her own divorce and how difficult that was for her since she dated him for seven years and was married to him for nine years. When Ramona replies that she was married to Mario for 25 years and so it feels like a body part has been cut off, Sonja counters that she was with her ex for a long time too. Ramona later made clear to Bravo’s camera her irritation at Sonja.
“This is the first time I’m speaking to Sonja about my Mario situation and she’s making it all about her!”
In a blog post on Thursday afternoon, Sonja Morgan wrote that perhaps now Ramona Singer, who was was critical of her and LuAnn de Lesseps when they were going through their divorces, knows that a man can leave through no fault of the woman.
“It’s pretty funny to hear Ramona apologizing to Luann and to hear Luann showing concern for Ramona’s separation from Mario after all the criticism she has taken from Ramona regarding her divorce and marriage before that…I never felt that Ramona understood how painful it was to go through divorce, and she was very quick to judge and to say if Luann and I had done things properly (and anyone, in fact, that listens to marriage advice when she was bragging about her perfect marriage and life) we would still have a husband, and it just doesn’t work that way unfortunately. Men will be men no matter how great a wife or mother you are, as she’s finding out now.”
Sonja added that she shared her own story because she thought she and Ramona could bond over it. They spent the rest of the lunch talking about Ramona and her daughter, Avery.
Sonja also had something to say about Ramona confiding in new housewife Dorinda Medley. While at Dorinda’s apartment, Ramona, in tears, went into detail about the Mario situation. Ramona also told Dorinda that when she tried to talk to Sonja about it, Sonja didn’t listen like she was doing. Sonja wrote in her blog that she was hurt that Ramona would say such things to Dorinda.
“I have to [say] I was hurt that she could share everything in private with Dorinda instead of meeting HER at restaurant as if she was her best friend when she never even had seen HER apartment before. I can’t tell you how many times Ramona has just dropped into my house and jumped into my bed or helped herself to my refrigerator and dropped in for dinner with my daughter. So to say I am narcissistic from that one isolated moment within a moment at lunch with her at a noisy restaurant is unfair. Furthermore, I don’t appreciate her telling Dorinda, who was just getting to know me better, that I’m not a good friend, because that’s simply not true.
Ramona, meanwhile, wrote in her blog post that it was “very painful” for her when she was trying to tell Sonja about what was going on in her life and Sonja “kept making it all about her.” Ramona wrote that her talk with Dorinda was “such a contrast” to her talk with Sonja.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, right before the Season 7 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City, Sonja Morgan did an interview where she said that Ramona Singer is never there for her. Sonja said that Ramona doesn’t have her back. Perhaps the rest of the season will show Ramona abandoning Sonja in favor of Dorinda Medley? A preview clip for the next episode shows Sonja, while at Ramona’s vacation home, getting peeved at Ramona for giving Dorinda the better room.
