Kim Kardashian: ‘Powerful Women Are Respected So Much In Our Culture’
Kim Kardashian has been documenting her journey to Armenia on social media. The famous Kardashian sister visited her native homeland along with sister Khloe Kardashian, husband Kanye West, and daughter North West. Kim and Khloe were also joined by their three cousins.
The Kardashian sisters met with the prime minister on Thursday, as previously reported by the Inquisitr. Kim Kardashian has also been making time to learn about the country of Armenia, alongside Kanye West and North. She’s also been documenting much of her trip on social media.
In her latest Twitter photo, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is seen inside one of the country’s oldest chapels, according to People magazine. She reportedly visited the Geghard Monastery, which is a medieval site in the Kotayk province.
Kim shared the peaceful photo with her fans. She included the caption “Blessed.” Kim, Kanye, and baby North are seen looking at a flame or watching a candle ceremony.
Prior to that, the Kardashian sisters visited Mother Armenia. They also took a photo outside the powerful statue that represents strong women.
Kim tweeted, “Visiting Mother Armenia yesterday. This statue reminds visitors of the strong female figures in Armenian history.”
You can see Kim and Khloe walking up the steps to view the statue that sits on top of the building.
The famous Kardashian sister also tweeted, “I love how powerful women are and respected so much in our culture!”
The Daily Beast is not sure if Kim Kardashian’s Armenian trip is sincere. The sisters were visiting during the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. A Kardashian’s representative said that their visit is not related to the commemoration, it’s just that the sisters just want to get in touch with their Armenian roots. This is the first time that Kim and Khloe have visited Armenia. They were surprisingly warmly welcomed by their homeland.
The organizer of the trip and Armenia’s prime minister said that Kim Kardashian’s trip is in relation to the anniversary.
“Kim Kardashian, her daughter, husband, and sisters want to visit Armenia to commemorate victims of the… genocide.”
The Daily Beast report also noted that Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan praised Kim for creating awareness about “international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian genocide.”
Kim Kardashian has spoken out about the Armenian genocide before. In 2011, she slammed he Turkish government on her blog for denying that it was genocide. Kim also made a public service announcement in 2012.
She even tweeted about it three years ago, writing, “Today let’s all stand together and remember the 1.5 million people who were massacred in the Armenian Genocide.” April 24, 1015. #NEVERFORGET.”
Whatever the reason for Kim’s trip, the people of Armenia are reportedly happy about it. Armenian activists are also “extremely appreciated of all that Kim has done” to create awareness about the genocide. Do you think Kim Kardashian’s trip to Armenia is actually sincere or just sheer coincidence?
