Kanye West Calls Ralph Lauren ‘Daddy,’ Compares Ego To A Table In His Home
Recently, Kanye West has been focusing on his fashion instead of his rap career. It’s the first time the two lanes haven’t intersected together. Now, West seems like he wants his fashion to stand on his own.
West sat down with T Magazine to discuss his fashion career and future goals, and somewhere in that conversation, West said Ralph Lauren was his “Daddy.” Of course, usually when someone makes such a claim, you would need more context, but seeing as this is West, Kanye is enough context to such a statement.

The “Yeezus” rapper opened up about the first time he met Ralph Lauren. The two got along so well that West has a photo of Lauren with his hand on his cheek.
“Do you know what he said when he did that? ‘This is my son,’ And I was thinking, ‘I knew it! I knew Ralph was my daddy!'”

West also included his family and how much his life has purpose, which makes his drive in two major fields better.
“I feel like now I have an amazing wife, a super-smart child and the opportunity to create in two major fields. Before I had those outlets, my ego was all I had.”

That said, he’s not pleased with everything in his life. West followed that semi-heartwarming statement with a tangent about how much he hates a table in his home and relates it to his ego, which he’s so famous for these days.
“They put this table in without asking. It was some weird nouveau riche marble table, and I hated it. But it was literally so heavy that it took a crane to move it. We would try to set up different things around it, but it never really worked. I realized that table was my ego. No matter what you put around it, under it, no matter who photographed it, the douchebaggery would always come through.”
What do you think of Kanye West’s latests interview? Is this just yet another rant or is he making sense?
