Adam Levine Fan Jumps On Stage, Wounds Singer When Lunging After His Neck [Video]
Over-enthusiastic fans are the price of super stardom. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine learned this Monday night, when a rabid female fan attacked him on stage, ET reported.
Though the fan’s intentions were likely not to physically harm Levine – her deft creep into the spotlight at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California looks more like an attempt to startle the singer with a surprise tickle – she certainly made him jump out of his skin.
And for a moment, it seemed Adam was about to go full-on ninja and wallop the fan, who appeared suddenly – and quite rudely – in his face.
But, ever the professional, the singer seemed to measure the danger of the situation and concede that pounding her to a pulp was an over-reaction. Instead, he made his legions of other fans swoon a bit when he put an arm around the interloper. That was until security marched on stage to take her away and perhaps, bring her to some nice men in white coats.
His reaction after the fan’s surprise visit on stage was anything but pleased, however.
“It’s just weird to be, like, in the moment, ya know? And you’re singing, and your eyes are closed, and you have this beautiful moment. And then the next thing you know someone’s f*cking in your face. It’s super terrifying.”
Adam even suffered an injury – a cut to his ear, perhaps from the woman’s finger nail as she went in for a hug, or, in MTV‘s interpretation, for his neck. But Adam’s a trooper – despite the wound, Levine continued the concert. Afterward, people ripped the woman who crept on stage and interrupted the concert. People like her, the complaints went, make security barriers necessary and ruins the intimacy of the concert for everyone else.
Though it’s reasonable to believe, without security barriers, Levine could be ripped to shreds by plenty of other fans eager to give him a hug – or a tickle – of their own.
