Kylie Jenner Responds To Blackface Controversy, Impresses Tyga, And Confuses Zendaya
Kylie Jenner thinks that the internet overreacted to her so-called “blackface” photos, and the teen reality show star is now asking everyone to keep calm and quit assuming that she was trying to look black in the controversial modeling photos. Twitter might be trying to start a race debate with the teen, but at least she and Tyga are doing better after their ugly fight (more on that in a minute).
According to People, Kylie Jenner responded to the blackface backlash in a recent Instagram post. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kylie was criticized for rocking a different skin color in the photos above.
One of her Instagram posts was captioned, “What I wish I looked like all the time thank you.”
However, it has been deleted and replaced with a new post that explains that her darker skin color is just a lighting trick.
“This is a black light and neon lights people lets all calm down,” Kylie Jenner captioned the replacement photo.
Even though she wasn’t trying to look black in the photos, perhaps Kylie decided to delete the “What I wish I looked like” caption because she didn’t want her followers to think that she’s unhappy with her natural skin and eye color.
Kylie’s lighting explanation might make some of her followers view the photos in a more positive light after giving them a second look, but former Disney star Zendaya experienced the opposite effect after inspecting the photos again. She initially thought that Kylie Jenner was going for a sexy extraterritorial (sextraterritorial?) look, but the social media backlash made her change her mind and side with those who saw the photos as blackface.

Kylie Jenner still hasn’t revealed what her controversial photo shoot was for, but she did reveal that she kept the green contact lenses used to lighten her eyes.
In other equally controversial Kylie Jenner news, the underage girl is still spending time with 25-year-old rapper Tyga.
Hollywood Life recently reported that the rumored couple had their first huge fight, and Tyga called his teen girlfriend “immature” during their spat. Kylie allegedly shed a few tears over the label, but a source claimed that she impressed Tyga with her mature response to being called immature.
“[Tyga] likes everything about [Kylie], including how she responds well to criticism. Even though he told her she was immature, it was coming from a genuine place. He wasn’t trying to flat out disrespect her, he was telling her about her behavior in hopes she’d learn from it.”
Tyga was reportedly happy to discover that Kylie Jenner is “willing to learn.” The rapper hasn’t weighed in on the blackface controversy yet, but maybe he’ll tell Kylie to see it as a teachable moment.
