Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality TV show is always packed to the hilt with family drama. From mom Kris Jenner and ex-husband-becoming-a-woman Bruce Jenner to feuds between the three diva sisters Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim Kardashian, there’s never a dull moment. Recently, however, brother Rob Kardashian has been at the center of some serious conversations.
According to USA Today , Kris Jenner is so concerned over her son’s behavior this past year that she fears his downward spiral may lead to death. An athlete most of his life, Rob Kardashian has recently become something of a recluse, gaining a whopping one hundred pounds at an alarming rate. Of course, this must be aired on Keeping Up with the Kardashians . I suppose after so many years of being followed by cameras, it feels natural to the Jenner and Kardashian clan. Certainly, the concern for Rob’s well-being seems very real.
People reports that Kris Jenner is so overcome by fear she is doing whatever it takes to bring her son out of his alleged depression.
“The most important thing in my life to me, is my children.”
In the attempt to do something to circumvent the dark path that her son is treading, Kris Jenner hired a life coach, inviting daughters Kourtney and Kim to join in the initial meeting. Apparently, Khloe was not consulted due to the close relationship she shares with her brother. Kris was afraid Khloe would not approve of the decision to hire a life coach without Rob’s approval.
“This is somebody who can help dissect the situation and figure out exactly what’s going on.”
Although Kim Kardashian is obviously concerned, she staunchly disagrees with the way Kris Jenner has been treating Rob. In Kim’s opinion, Kris has been coddling her son, when she should take a more tough love approach.
Kris believes if she doesn’t “do something drastic, that he’s gonna die.” This is a classic mother’s response, and Kris Jenner is not wrong to feel this way. She thinks Rob is dealing with something that he can’t handle on his own, and as his mom, it’s her job to make everything better.
However, I tend to side with Kim Kardashian’s point of view. Kris has spent the last several months catering to Rob, which apparently has not helped at all. It’s called “tough love” for a reason. Sometimes it’s more helpful for the person to be held accountable and expected to rise up and face circumstances head on, rather than hiding from them.
Will Kris Jenner listen to Kim’s opinion, or plow on in the way she wants to go? Do you think the life coach is a good idea? How will Kris Jenner proceed? How will Rob Kardashian react?
