Dorinda Medley Was Scared Of Bethenny Frankel When She Came Aboard ‘RHONY’
Dorinda Medley joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City last year for filming on season 7, and in a new interview, she revealed her thoughts about the start of her career in reality television.
“I thought, ‘I’m turning 50, and I’ve never done anything like this.’ So I decided to give it a go,” Dorinda Medley told OK! Magazine, according to an April 3 report by Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
Dorinda Medley has been friends with Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps for years, but when it came to her on-screen relationships, it was Sonja Morgan, who joined the show during season 3, whom she bonded with.
“Sonja Morgan and I hit it off right away because she’s just so wacky.”
While Dorinda Medley may have had good times with the majority of the cast, she did run into a few issues, one of which involved the youngest member of the cast, 37-year-old Kristen Taekman, a longtime friend of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills trouble starter Brandi Glanville.
“I had some issues with Kristen Taekman. She’s younger and comes from a different background, but we sorted things out.”
As for Bethenny Frankel, who returned to The Real Housewives of New York City in October after originally leaving the cast after season 3, Dorinda Medley admitted she was scared of her at first.
“I was very curious, and slightly frightened, to meet her, but we get along well. She brings back the old-school tone of the show, so I think she’s a great addition.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Dorinda Medley was said to be feuding with Singer at the end of last year. Although Singer is reportedly the one who brought Medley to the cast for season 7, a show source told Radar Online the two were at odds in December 2014, after Singer grew concerned that Medley could steal her full-time role.
According to the report, Singer was so upset about Dorinda Medley’s role on the show that she actually approached Bravo and demanded they cut Medley from the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
The report went on to state that the show needed a woman like Medley on the series. Not only does Medley have money, she also has a couple of impressive properties in New York City, and in the Berkshires.
For more Dorinda Medley, tune in to The Real Housewives of New York City on April 7 at 9 p.m. on Bravo, when the seventh season premieres.
