Walt Disney World is said to be a place where magic happens and where your wildest dreams and wishes come true. That’s exactly what happened recently as a couple went for what was supposed to be a fun night out on Disney’s Boardwalk but turned into a choreographed flash mob marriage proposal.
It was three years ago that Patrick Santos met his boyfriend, Gavin Cooper Hatch, and they met at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn at Walt Disney World. Well, it’s not surprising that this would be the same spot that a big moment in their lives happened.
According to ET Online , Hatch went there and was under the impression that he was going to the Boardwalk to meet up with some friends and get some drinks.
Upon his arrival and after a little time spent at the Boardwalk, Hatch learned that he was there for a much bigger reason. He was handed a note by some friends of his and he opened it up to read.
“Gavin, this very moment is the start of our new adventure together. You always talked about being in love like in the movies. However, all the best love stories have one thing in common: You have to go against all odds to get there.”
Hatch immediately begins to get emotional and starts crying, but there is so much more to the night.
At this point, a flash mob appears in a gazebo on the Boardwalk that is often used for weddings through Disney Fairytale Weddings. The mob dances with perfect choreography to “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry as Hatch watches on.
After some great dance moves and an amazing performance, Santos appears as the big reveal and walks over to Hatch. Santos gets down on one knee and simply pops the question.
“Gavin Cooper Hatch, would you please do me the honor and marry me?”
Hatch did say “yes” to Santos, and it’s a good thing he did because that was one awesome performance. It would have been awful to have all that put together with a flash mob at Walt Disney World and have the marriage proposal refused.
For those who may be wondering, yes, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings is open to same-sex couples participating. It was back in 2007 that their policy was changed to include gay couples getting married.
It’s not entirely sure if Gavin Cooper Hatch and Patrick Santos will want their wedding at Walt Disney World, but their flash mob sure did a great job selling it. This was a marriage proposal that will always be remembered, and one that has now gone viral.
