Milla Jovovich Welcomes Second Daughter
Milla Jovovich, though a bit overdue, has introduced her second daughter into the world.
People magazine is reporting that Jovovich, 39, and husband Paul W.S. Anderson, 49, welcomed their second child, a daughter, on Wednesday, April 1.
“We are so proud to announce the birth of Dashiel Edon Jovovich-Anderson to the world today,” Jovovich announced on Instagram. “She is 7 lbs., 10 oz. and 20 inches long. We love you Dash!”
“Milla, her husband Paul, and big sister Ever are overjoyed to welcome Dashiel Edan into their family and are all spending some quality bonding time together,” Jovovich’s rep says, adding that the baby was born early this morning. “Both mama and baby are doing great.”
Anderson and Jovovich, who announced their pregnancy on August, said that big sister Ever was excited about the new arrival.
“We’re actually having a girl, so she’s so excited,” Jovovich said in October.
“[Ever]’s like, ‘We don’t need to buy her anything, Mama. She can just wear all of my old clothes,’ ” Jovovich, who began showing in September, joked. “I’m like, ‘Well, but she needs something new of her own.’ ‘No. No. No. No. She doesn’t need anything. She can just wear my old stuff.’ ”
Anderson and Jovovich also said that the youngest Jovovich-Anderson was helpful in naming the new child, though Ever’s first options were not used. Her suggestions were “Cinderella” and “Toilet Bowl.”
According to Yahoo! Celebrity UK, Jovovich took to Facebook to give a “Countdown to delivery,” and to chronicle her intention to maintain her health through the pregnancy.
“I’ve gained all the baby weight I need to have a healthy pregnancy -30 lbs.- and as of last week, I’ve started having to be really careful about my lifestyle so I don’t continue to gain unnecessarily; which is not healthy for me OR my newborn,” Jovovich said. “I’m really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming Resident Evil- The Final Chapter in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously.”
“At 170 lbs. I’m at a perfect pregnancy weight for my height and build. I want to maintain where I’m at; my ideal being 175 all together (with a total of 35 lbs. gained over all through out my pregnancy). I also want to be the healthiest I can to ensure the easiest delivery and no stress post birth when I have to establish a nursing routine, as well as, slowly getting myself and my family ready to move halfway across the world to make a big action movie with a lot of stunt work! Phew!”
Of all the things Jovovich had to worry about, one did give her some concern.
“I don’t know what we would have done if the baby was a boy,” she said.
