CW ‘Arrow’ Spin-Off: Two Out Three Mystery Heroes Identified And Cast, Find Out Who
CW has dominated the comic book adaptation gambit for years now, so it was not surprising at all that the veiled announcement for a new spin-off was given earlier this month. First, it was Smallville. Then, after 10 seasons, Arrow picked up the mantle.
Arrow became such a success, that the Flash was given the green light to spin-off from the CW’s Green Arrow adaptation. The newest comic book adaptation from CW will spin-off from them, but up until now we knew very little about the new show.
The Inquisitr reported that there were four characters already introduced, and three yet to be determined. One-half of Firestorm, Canary, Captain Cold, and The Atom were the current CW characters, the latter half of the seven aforementioned characters were given descriptions only.
“THE TRAVELER – ‘A Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.'”
“FEMALE WARRIOR – ‘This twenty-something Latina is pretty but unassuming, book smart and socially awkward by day. But by night, when she hears the cry of battle, her fury is ignited and she becomes a fierce warrior — so much so, that sometimes she can become a threat to others.'”
“MYSTERY HERO – ‘An African-American male in his twenties will fill the role of a regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.'”
The CW “Traveler” and “female warrior” character’s identities have finally been answered. According to Hollywood Reporter, CW’s “time traveler” character is Rip Hunter. CW’s Rip Hunter character will be played, ironically, by Doctor Who alum Arthur Darville.
Deadline reports that the “female warrior” is none other than Hawkgirl, and that she will be played by relative newcomer Ciara Renee. The CW Hawkgirl’s background has been released as well, which is far more detailed than previous reports.
“Saunders is a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.”
So, that leaves the CW “mystery hero”a mystery. Speculation is one way to get the information, but considering the other two characters were revealed in a matter of weeks, it is quite likely that we will find out the remaining character sooner than we think.
