United Kingdom Muslims Set Up Peaceful ‘Sharia Patrols’ But Online Clips Show Otherwise [Video]
When it comes to recent news pertaining to the Muslim faith of Islam, the religious concept of Sharia Law has become very controversial. The Inquisitr reported on Sharia Law and how certain Muslims want to incorporate it into their daily lives over the established law of whichever country they call home. In the United Kingdom, there was a proposal to brand critics of Sharia Law as “extremists.” Yet in the United States, Beth Van Duyne — the mayor of Irving, Texas, — opposed a group of Muslims trying to establish a Sharia Court, stating their law does not supersede U.S. law.
A lot of the stigma surrounding Sharia Law has to do with its perceived extremist view along with equally extreme punishments. Yet, there are Muslims who are doing their best to uphold Sharia Law as peacefully as they can. Such as a group of Muslims in the U.K. who created a “Sharia Patrol” to nicely implement their belief. However, when the media is not around, the Sharia Patrol have shown to be abusive and, at times, violent.
The video of the CBS Special, reported numerously by conservative sites such as Conservative Infidel and Conservative Tribune, interviews a Muslim who has setup “Sharia Patrols,” groups of Muslims who go out among the people to discourage behavior which is recognized as un-Islamic. In the initial part of the video, it shows the Sharia Patrol chastising two men who were drinking beer coaxingly but respectfully. But right after that, it shows a very different side of the Sharia Patrol. In one scenario, a woman in a short skirt is abused. In another, a man assumed to be a homosexual is insulted.
Eventually, the Muslim man confesses what he wants to see done pertaining to Sharia Law in the United Kingdom as well as all of Europe (and eventually all of America).
“Ultimately, I want to see every single woman in this country covered from head to toe. I want to see the hands of thieves cut. I want to see adulterers stoned to death. I want to see Sharia Law in Europe, and I want to see it in America as well. I believe our controls are a means to an end.”
Ironically at the end of the video, it is brought up that Sharia Law may in fact be a double-standard in which said punishments seem to be doled out more so to unbelievers of Islam compared to those who follow. Anjem Choudary probably enforced this best when he said that invoking Sharia Law differs between non-Muslims to Muslims because the former are oppressors while the latter are the oppressed.
