Mariah Carey Las Vegas Ticket Sales Are Still Very Poor

Mariah Carey may regret committing to her Las Vegas residency. It’s a little more than one month before her residency starts, but it appears that people just don’t care about “The Voice” as much as they used to. Tickets for the first date are doing fine (although not even close to selling out), but unless they start filling more seats for the rest of the residency, Mariah may be in trouble.

A quick look at tickets available at AXS shows that you can still buy a group of five seats that are pretty close to the stage to see Mariah Carey on Sunday, May 10.

If you don’t want to pay $250 for premium seats, there are plenty of tickets left in all other price ranges, except the cheapest at $55. Even though Mariah Carey tickets have been available since January 15 for the 4,000 seat theater, you will have no problem buying practically a whole row of ten seats towards the front floor section for the May 20 show.

A quick look through tickets looks like at least one third of the seats are still available for purchase. When looking at dates in July, it looks like Mariah, as of right now, may play to almost full venues of emptiness. This is a stark contrast to Mariah’s former rival Madonna, who is already adding dates at venues three times the size on her tour due to high ticket demand, despite tickets costing as much as $400.

It’s important to note that even though the dates are getting close, Mariah doesn’t have to cancel just yet. There has been more of a trend of people buying concert tickets closer to the date of the actual show in the past five years. Mariah may be just fine. But that doesn’t stop the media from fat-shaming her. On Wednesday morning, Radar Online ran a title that screamed, “Mariah Carey Weight Gain — Singer Gorging On Pizza, Ice Cream After Divorce.” They quoted a so-called insider who talked to In Touch Weekly about Mariah Carey‘s hard times.

“When Mariah’s going through a difficult time, you can usually find her at a restaurant or in the kitchen. It’s nothing new. All of her weight fluctuations over the years correlate with breakups.”

It is highly rumored that Mariah Carey is doing extensive training to her voice to bring it back up to par. Some of Mariah’s most recent performances have been absolutely disastrous. Let’s hope Mariah Carey can give Las Vegas the show it deserves.
