Brady Quinn Disses Tim Tebow [Video]
Yet another name is being added to the long list of critics of Tim Tebow’s. This time it is Denver Bronco’s backup quarterback Brady Quinn. Quinn was the second string quarterback when starter Kyle Orton was taken out. He expected that it was his turn to shine but Broncos coach John Fox had other plans.
Fox decided to turn to fan favorite Tim Tebow, and the rest is history.
Quinn says in the March issue of GQ.
“I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just ’cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I didn’t have any billboards. That would have been nice.”
After the Broncos decided they were going to stick with Tebow, Orton was given his walking papers and Quinn kept riding the bench.
It may just be that Quinn is bitter but he claims it is obvious how Tebow came up with his late game success.
He said,
“The entire game, the defensive line is chasing the quarterback around, and that wears down the pass rush,. Meanwhile, the defensive backs are chasing receivers, but you only throw eight passes, so they start to feel lazy. It only takes that one play, that one big pass, for a touchdown.”
Quinn’s take on why the Broncos excelled under Tebow? “We’ve had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply.”
Fox is not sure if Quinn will be back next season as he is an unrestricted free agent this season but Coach Fox wants this off season to be competitive. He expects Tebow to compete for his starters position.
