Can Zayn Malik Really Pull Off A Nick Jonas Or Justin Timberlake Solo Career?
Zayn Malik recently shocked fans by announcing his exit from One Direction. Malik did so because he was reportedly “overwhelmed” by the circumstances.
Zayn Malik has since spoken out about his decision and silenced rumors that he and his former band members were fighting. First, Malik explained how he feels since leaving One Direction.
“I’ve never felt more in control in my life. I feel like I’m doing what’s right — right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good.”
The announcement came as a surprise to fans, but according to Zayn, it was not an easy decision to make. He recently admitted that he had to think about it for a while before taking action.
“I did try to do something that I wasn’t happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other’s people’s happiness. And that was mainly the fans. I only ever tried to do it for the fans. I’m only upset [because] I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way.”
Zayn Malik leaving One Direction caused a surge of angry, sad, and confused tweets. While many fans plan to support his decision, a lot of them felt that Zayn was going a bit too far.

Zayn Malik is one of many boy band members to find themselves lost inside a controlled group. Similar feelings were felt by Justin Timberlake years ago, and more recently by former Blink 182 member Tom Delonge and Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers.
Nick Jonas told E! News that he completely understood Zayn’s choice to leave One Direction, using his personal experience as support.
“It’s always tough. You know, there’s never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him and you got to stay true to yourself.”
The members of One Direction made an official statement on March 25 via Facebook. The band members “respect” Zayn’s decision.Though Zayn Malik seems to have the support of his former bandmates and his fans, no one expects him to have a prosperous solo career. But Nick Jonas sees promise in the third-favorite One Directioner.
“I feel for the One Direction fans and I hope they’re doing okay. But you know, it’s one of those things, that sometimes it’s just time to close a chapter.”
