Jill Duggar knows that Baby Dilly fans are getting impatient as they await his late arrival, so she and husband Derick Dillard are trying to make the anticipation a bit more bearable by giving fans what could be their final baby bump update.
According to Us Weekly , Derick Dillard shared the photo below on his Instagram page. It shows Jill Duggar rocking a huge baby bump at 40 weeks and two days into her pregnancy. Baby Dilly was expected to arrive on March 24, but it looks like he’s trying to avoid those 19 Kids and Counting cameras for as long as possible — or maybe he just wants to be his parents’ first engagement anniversary gift.
“I wonder if #babydilly will decide to come on the one year anniversary of my engagement to @jillmdillard this weekend,” Derick Dillard captioned the photo below.
Jill and Derick got engaged last year on March 29.
Jill recently told People that she’s not worried about Baby Dilly being late , and she even decided to give herself two due dates after being told that “first-time moms often go a week and a half over” their actual due date. Her second due date is April 5, which just happens to be Easter Sunday. The Duggars would definitely be excited if Baby Dilly was born on such an important religious holiday.
However, Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard might have their own special reason for wanting their child to arrive on their engagement anniversary. According to the Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles and Hairspray Facebook page, Baby Dilly might be named after the place Derick purchased Jill’s engagement ring.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Pickles and Hairspray page was the first to report that an ambulance had shown up to the Dillard residence on Jill’s due date. A source later told Pickles and Hairspray that Jill Duggar and her baby were doing fine, and it’s possible that the source also revealed Baby Dilly’s real name.
“She also said they are planning to name the baby Israel. I’m really hoping this source is kidding. We’ll see.”
According to ABC News , Derick Dillard proposed to Jill Duggar with a ring that he purchased in Israel .
“Jill really likes Israel and I’d always wanted to go to the holy land,” Derick said. “[When I was there] I had it in my head that I wanted to get an engagement ring pretty soon but I had no idea it would work out [this] perfectly!”
During an interview with Today , Jill Duggar said that she and Derick aren’t going to carry on her family’s tradition of giving their children names that all begin with the same first letter. She also said something that makes the Israel moniker seem like a real possibility.
“We are not going to do the letter theme. We may pick another theme… We’re talking about family names and Bible names.”
Israel is definitely a Biblical name — in the Bible, God Jacob is given the name Israel by God. “Izzy Dilly” might sound a bit awkward, but it’s obvious that both Jill and Derick feel a special connection to Israel.
Do you think Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard will reveal that they’ve chosen to name their baby Israel whenever he finally arrives?
