‘Mean Mommy’: Boys Call 911 On Mother While Left In Car Outside Library In Monroe, Michigan
A 25-year-old mom from Monroe, Michigan, has stirred up trouble for herself after cops found her in the library while her three boys were outside in a car unattended. The Daily Mail is reporting now that a 6-year-old boy was so distraught by his mother leaving them in the vehicle that he called 911 to report that his mommy was being mean to them.
The dispatcher can be heard on the 911 tape asking the boy how old he was and where he was located. The little boy stated that he was 6-years-old and that he was in his mommy’s car outside the library. The boy was unable to give dispatchers the exact location or the name of the library.
Here’s a transcript of the 911 call.
“Dispatcher: Hello?
Boy: Hello?
Dispatcher: Hello, this is 911, can I help you?
Boy: Uh huh.
Dispatcher: What’s going on?
Boy: My mom is being mean to us.
Dispatcher: Where are you at? What is the address?
Boy: At the library.
Dispatcher: At the library?
Boy: Yeah.
Dispatcher: What library are you at?
Boy: It’s spelled with a D.
Dispatcher: Do you know what street it’s on?
Boy: East… east…
Dispatcher: How old are you?
Boy: Six.
A trace of the call led investigators to the Dorsch Memorial Library located at 18 E 1st Street where they found three boys — all under the age of — in a parked car. With the boys, ages 6,4, and 2 in tow, officers entered the library to find the mother. When the woman was located, she was sorting out financial papers. She explained to police that she had entered the library with her sons but marched them out to the car after they began acting up inside.
The woman, whom police have not identified, was not arrested but CPS was called to further the investigation. No word on whether Child Protective Services will bring formal charges, according to CBS Local.
This case has many people talking and debating about whether this mother should face charges of abuse or whether these are just bad kids who need to learn to behave. Some say the boys were in the car together with the windows rolled down and access to a phone for only 12 minutes. Others say it is a clear sign of neglect to leave young kids in a parked car in the cold temperatures unattended — period.
This story comes on the heels of another tragic story in the news involving Mitchelle Blair, a woman accused of killing her two children and placing them in a freezer in her apartment. In that case, the frozen bodies were discovered after the woman was evicted. The Inquisitr reported earlier that the woman told police that she killed the two kids because they were sexually abusing a younger sibling.
The Mitchelle Blair case is a perfect example of why police investigators and child protective services should investigate all complaints of neglect or abuse.
