Jerod Brown: Bobbi Kristina Cousin Arrested After ‘Pray’ Tribute, Defends Nick Gordon As Bobby Brown Slams [Video]

Jerod Brown, cousin of Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been arrested. Known for his repeated updates on the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown as she remains dependent on life support, Jerod was pulled over by police in Georgia, reported Us Weekly.

Just one week after Jerod announced his “Pray4BK” music video tribute for Bobbi Kristina (below), he was forced to defend himself against the Atlanta Police Department. The police contended that they detected an odor of marijuana so strong that they could smell it while driving behind Jerod’s car.

However, Brown claimed that the aroma was due to his time in the studio prior to getting in his car and driving. But the situation quickly deteriorated for Jerod when he failed to find his driver’s license and then gave the police a false name and birth date.

When Brown finally revealed his true name and birth date, police were able to determine that an existing warrant for his arrest existed. Jerod subsequently was arrested for claiming a false identity, driving without a license, and the existing warrant.

Prior to his arrest, Jerod has been active on social media in defending Nick Gordon and providing what he views as Bobbi Kristina’s prognosis, reported People.

And while Bobby Brown banned Gordon from his daughter’s hospital room because he said the 25-year-old had not cooperated, Jerod denied that claim.

“Nick has cooperated with the police department, he has cooperated with my uncle Bobby’s request. He has given my family members as much information as he can.”

Brown also addressed Gordon’s appearance on the Dr. Phil Show, during which Nick pleaded with Dr. Phil not to air the episode. Jerod slammed Dr. Phil’s decision to broadcast that episode as exploitation.

“He has been exploited on national television with hidden cameras that he had no idea about. He has given Kristina CPR which is one of the reasons why she is not dead till this day. He has been ridiculed and accused without any concrete evidence, yet he still hasn’t gotten the chance to visit his girl. If everyone truly believes that Nick is the blame for this situation wouldn’t you think he would already be locked up by now.”

However, both Bobby Brown and Leolah Brown have slammed Gordon, as the Inquisitr reported. Leolah wrote on her Facebook page that police are investigating Gordon for attempting to kill her niece, directing her plea to Dr. Phil and asking that he not air the show.

“Nick Gordon is under investigation for the attempted murder of my niece Bobbi Kristina Brown. We have strong evidence of foul play. Until this investigation is completed by law enforcement, I would ask that you or anyone else not provide this individual a platform to spin this situation to his benefit.”

Bobby also requested that the media ignore Jerod Brown, issuing a formal statement against Bobbi Kristina’s cousin, reported Us Weekly.

“At this time it is requested that the media cease speaking with unauthorized members of the family…Various members of the family have provided media interviews, however, none of them are approved visitors to see Bobbi Kristina. None of them have firsthand knowledge of Bobbi Kristina’s treatment and the medical staff at Emory University Hospital has not communicated with them. In particular, Jerod Brown aka Jerod Carter aka YF Kennedy, continues to makes statements and appear on television, however, he has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family. He must be disregarded…This is a criminal investigation and we do not need this side show.”
